LUNGHISSIMOMARE

The city of Bari holds a record. And it involves its sea, because in Bari you can admire the sea for miles and miles. In fact, at 15 km, it is the longest seafront promenade in Europe.
Established in the early 1900s, immediately noticeable by its approximately 200 black cast iron street lamps, Bari's seafront connects various neighborhoods of the city, starting from the port and ending at the Fiera del Levante. This distance also encompasses a lighthouse and Bari's most famous beach, Pane e Pomodoro (Bread and Tomato), a rather curious name that refers to the ancient custom of beachgoers to bring their own snacks directly to the beach, as the area was not equipped for that purpose.
